These are typical estimates, not quotes. They come from published industry ranges and will vary with the home, the distance and the site. Only a mover who sees the job can give you a real price.

| Full-service move (teardown, transport, setup) | $5,000 – $15,000+ |
| Re-leveling an existing home | $300 – $1,500 |
| Setup and installation only | $1,000 – $5,000 |
| Tie-down / anchor replacement | $500 – $3,000 |
What changes the price
- Size and sections. Double-wides and triple-wides need a truck and permit for every section.
- Distance and route. Longer moves and permitted routes with detours cost more. Wide loads may need escort vehicles.
- Permits. TxDMV issues oversize permits for manufactured homes, and the mover usually gets them. Out-of-state moves need permits from each state.
- Paperwork. Texas requires a tax certificate from the county tax office showing taxes are paid before a manufactured home can be moved. Ownership is recorded with TDHCA through a Statement of Ownership.
- Site work. Clearing trees, building a pad or driveway, and utility hookups are often separate costs.
- Setup. Installation has to be done by a TDHCA-licensed installer to state standards, including anchoring.
- Age and condition. Older homes may need axle, tire or frame repairs before they can travel safely.

Questions folks ask
How much does it cost to move a mobile home in Texas?
Typical estimates run about $1,500 to $5,000 for a local single-wide transport and $3,000 to $10,000 or more for a double-wide. Full-service moves with teardown and setup can go higher. Distance, size, permits, escorts and site work all change the price, so get written quotes.
Why does a double-wide cost about twice as much?
Each section is a separate oversize load with its own permit and truck, and the sections have to be split, sealed and rejoined at the new site.
Is the permit included in the price?
Usually the mover pulls the TxDMV oversize permit and includes it in the quote, but ask. Escorts, tax certificates and utility work are often extra.
